DESCRIPTION:I will be delivering a half day presentation on researching Canadian retention requirements in Toronto for the Ontario Connections annual conference on May 20, 2015.  The conference is intended for Ontario Government employees and other public sector workers.  The session description follows:\n[framed_box width=”90%” bgColor=”#FCECFF” align=”center”]\nAn Ontario Government employee needs to be able to research legislated/regulated retention requirements when drafting a retention schedule for a Ministry’s unique/substantive records which are not covered by a common schedule.\nA registrant who works for a public sector organization other than the Ontario Government (e.g. a police force) for which common schedules are not available, also requires the ability to research legislated/regulated retention requirements for an organization’s common/ administrative + unique/substantive records.\nLegislated/regulatory requirements govern the retention of some of the records your organization creates/receives.  Attend this workshop to learn how to research Canadian legislated/regulatory retention requirements and monitor proposed new/amended legislation (federal or provincial/territorial) that may impact your organization’s records retention practices in the future.
