SUMMARY:Records Retention Scheduling– iSchool Institute RM Certificate Course
DESCRIPTION:This spring I will once again be teaching 4 certificate courses at the University of Toronto’s iSchool Institute.  The iSchool Institute is the Faculty of Information’s continuing education arm at U of T, and offer two certificate programs in Records Managment:  Records Management Fundamentals and Records Management Practice.  The certificates are offered several times a year in Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton and on the web.\n \nOn April 18 I will be teaching the course on Records Retention Scheduling.  It is the fourth course of the Fundamentals certificate.\nHere is the course description from the iSchool website:\n \n[framed_box]\nRecords Retention Scheduling\nThis course introduces the benefits of records retention schedules, identifies the value(s) a record series may possess, presents a recommended process for scheduling retention periods, and identifies records retention and disposition processes including “legal holds”. This course also addresses the importance of securing compliance with approved retention periods.
